Standard Backup Policy

All files and folders stored in C:\Documents and Settings or C:\Users (for Windows Vista and Windows 7) are backed up by default. A Live Virtual Assistant can assist you in manually selecting files. Dataprotect does not backup System files or Applications.


Administrators can use the Dataprotect console to:

  • Add users and other administrators to their account
  • Observe the complete storage summary and backup status for all computers
  • Become aware of account alerts that signal unusual backup activity
  • Email users instructions for specific tasks like reinstalling Dataprotect
  • Put on hold backup activity for a user
  • Prevent users from accessing their accounts
  • Remove users or specific computers
  • Reallocate computers to new users
  • Capable of choosing a storage limit for an account
  • Assign storage quotas to individual computers
